Andrew Karolyi

Andrew Karolyi Johnson SchoolMASB Advisor since 2017, Andrew Karolyi is Harold Bierman, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Management and Professor of Finance in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is also Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Andrew is an internationally-known scholar in investment management, with a specialization in the study of international financial markets. His work has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies, and he has published several books and monographs. He currently serves as executive editor of the Review of Financial Studies.

He received the 2005 Fama/DFA Prize for Capital Markets and Asset Pricing, the 2001 William F. Sharpe Award for Scholarship in Finance, the 2006 Journal of Empirical Finance’s Biennial Best Paper Prize, the Fisher College of Business’ Pace Setter Awards for Excellence in Research and Graduate Teaching, and Johnson’s Prize for Excellence in Research in 2010.

He received his BA in Economics with honors from McGill University and his MBA and PhD degrees in Finance at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
